Mechanical Plant Engineer

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a PLANT ENGINEER/MECHANICAL ENGINEER for an opportunity in the Edmonton Area in a warehouse environment.

Job Description:

• Responsible for identifying reliability improvement opportunities, delivering solutions to improve plant reliability, leading equipment failure root cause analyses, and providing predictive diagnostic services and expertise to the maintenance teams
• Initiate and oversee projects that have been identified as required by operations
• Ensure understanding and compliance to the critical safety, environmental and quality working systems
• Supervise and direct employees and contractors as required, to ensure safety and quality requirements are met
• Provide input and recommendations of safe systems of work and manage identified hazards throughout the area
• Conduct risk assessments when appropriate and implement actions to properly manage identified risks before proceeding with work
• Communicates technical learning’s and process changes with teams
• Assist with plant operations and maintenance troubleshooting

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an APEGA recognized institution
• Registered P.Eng Designation with APEGA
• 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
• Ability to manage a number of projects and priorities to a timeline and budget, while realizing project benefits
• Experience working in a heavy industrial environment
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated leadership, problem solving skills and responsible attitude towards safety
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
